Most everything adds up to Boris Johnson as PM
London | The 11 candidates vying to lead Britain's Conservative Party and replace Theresa May as prime minister are frantically stepping up their bids for support from fellow MPs, after the Tories changed the contest rules to try to winnow the almost comically-crowded field.
The rule change dramatically raises the bar for getting past the early rounds of the Byzantine competition, in which the 313 Tory MPs vote multiple times to knock candidates out of the race one by one, until only two are left standing.
