Shanghai | China has signalled further cuts to coal use as it steps up its battle against polluted skies, in the latest hit to Australian miners already concerned about restrictions on coal imports to the world's second-largest economy.
While Beijing did not set any official new targets for coal consumption, Ecology and Environment Minister Li Ganjie said coal's contribution to the energy mix, at 60 per cent of the total, remained too high.
