Clive Palmer's to spend $50m to get back on the political stage
Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer may be back in the money after winning a long-running royalty dispute with Chinese-owned CITIC Pacific, but he denies he is frittering the money away by spending an estimated $50 million to re-launch his political career.
While he has never been shy of the spotlight, The Australian Financial Review Rich Lister and former federal MP - whose previous political incarnation, the Palmer United Party, held the balance of power in the Senate after the 2013 election - Mr Palmer's advertising blitz in the past few months on his new United Australia Party has been nothing short of a blitzkrieg.
