Greens give up on a carbon price, want government-owned 'People's Bank'

Australian Greens leader Richard Di Natale will today abandon the push for a price on carbon and demand the Reserve Bank of Australia enter the home mortgage market, in a major speech advocating greater government intervention.
Senator Di Natale, whose leadership has come under question in recent weeks following a series of disappointing election results, will also call for the introduction of a Universal Basic Income.
