Australian Bureau of Statistics Chief statistician, David Kalisch, has conceded difficulties with the census website has slashed $30 million off the $100 million dollar saving heralded by the government in moving the national survey online.
In a Senate estimates hearing on Wednesday night, the ABS also admitted they had fallen short of their targeted number of households to complete the form online rather than on paper.
