Nigel Littlewood on investment lessons from his mum and Rene Rivkin
From his mother he learnt the importance of being frugal, while from controversial stockbroker Rene Rivkin he learnt about keeping your emotions in check. Now Nigel Littlewood is applying those lessons to small-cap stockpicking.
Nigel Littlewood really has seen it all.
He was a chalkie at 19 after he opted to defer his first year at Sydney University. He was there when the sharemarket crashed in1987 and then went on to have a range of roles on dealing desks and in the fund management business, including setting up the original Rivkin Report for the controversial stockbroker, cigar-smoking and worry-bead handler: Rene Rivkin.
