Hedge fund Bronte Capital, led by one of the country’s highest-profile investors, John Hempton, has recorded one of its better recent performances, with its short book driving outperformance amid the volatile global markets.
In a note to investors, Hempton said his Amalthea Fund had posted a 4.56 per cent increase over the quarter, beating the benchmark MSCI All Country World Index’s 2.21 per cent loss. Still, the fund posted a 3 per cent drop last month.
