A strong performance by gold miners and a rebound in tech stocks helped nudge the Australian sharemarket higher on Monday, despite a few select stocks suffering heavy declines.

The S&P/ASX 200 Index gained 9.4 points, or 0.1 per cent, to end the session at 7023.6.
