ASX edges 0.1pc higher despite China weighing on miners

The Australian sharemarket rose to a record high on Wednesday despite the miners weighing heavily after China said it would release reserves of a number of key commodities in order to curb price increases.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index climbed 6.7 points, or 0.1 per cent, to 7386.2, extending its record high from the previous session.
