ASX dips 0.3pc, falling for second straight session

Australia was unable to escape a global equity market sell-off, with local shares falling for a second straight session on Wednesday, driven by losses from the major banks and miners.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index fell 20.4 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 6997.4, rallying from a heavy mid-session loss of 1.6 per cent.
