ASX caps best financial year in 34 years

The Australian sharemarket capped its best financial year in more than 30 years on Wednesday, with shares rebounding following a poor start to the week’s trading.

The S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 11.8 points, or 0.2 per cent, to 7313.0 on Wednesday, taking its yearly gain to 24 per cent, its best financial year since 1987.
