Should investors buy oil stocks amid Iran-Israel conflict?

As hostilities between Israel and Iran extended into a fourth day on Monday, commodity traders remain fixated on one thing: the Strait of Hormuz.

The narrow waterway between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman is used by Middle Eastern oil producers to ship about a fifth of the world’s daily output. If Iran blocked this route, analysts believe the price of the world’s most traded commodity would almost certainly surge above $US100 a barrel.
