Soaring coffee prices are at risk of accelerating amid concerns that adverse weather for top suppliers Brazil and Vietnam will damage next year’s crop, sending supply chains into disarray.

Arabica futures for March delivery climbed to a 13-year high of $US3.03 a pound on Friday, passing $US3 for the first time since 2011. Arabica – the main type of coffee consumed in Australia – has rallied nearly 60 per cent this year, making it one of the top-performing commodities.
