ASX chief Elmer Funke Kupper resigns

ASX chief executive Elmer Funke Kupper said he quit because he needed to put the integrity of the sharemarket operator ahead of his own interests while the police probe a possible bribe paid made when he ran Tabcorp.

Mr Funke Kupper, who resigned without any public warning on Monday, said he wanted to avoid a trial by media following reports last week about the payment.
