It’s the champagne equivalent of a long-haul flight: a three-day tour of the famous French region that gave the world its best-known sparkling wine – organised by a key buyer, Singapore Airlines.

I’m among a select group of journos and influencers the airline is whisking around Champagne by minivan to highlight the selections it serves its pointy-end passengers. And so we can try them, of course.
