Ex-Woolworths chairman calls price gouging claims ‘farcical’

Former Woolworths chairman Ralph Waters says supermarkets are being used as a “political distraction” and it is “farcical” to accuse the grocers of price gouging.
Mr Waters was chairman of the nation’s largest supermarket chain from 2011 to 2015, and rarely gives interviews. He recalls the furore over selling products too cheaply, with $1 per litre milk a historical flashpoint.
