Tempers fray over $10 billion housing fund

A Senate stand-off over the Albanese government’s $10 billion housing fund will roll into June after the Coalition and Greens united to kill off Labor attempts to bring legislation to a vote on Thursday.
During an at times fiery and emotional sitting day, the government tried to guillotine debate and force a vote on the bill, as the first step towards creating a double dissolution trigger if it continued to be blocked.
