Big spenders: NSW election pledges hit $11b

“Given NSW represents about 30 per cent of the national economy, these spending decisions make a huge difference to everyone,” economist Stephen Anthony said.

It took almost a month of requests but this week NSW Liberals and NSW Labor quietly revealed just how much they are prepared to spend to win the state.

Nine days out from polling day on March 25 in an exceptionally close and hard-fought election campaign where NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet is asking voters for a fourth term against Opposition Leader Chris Minns, total spending commitments are close to $11 billion.
