Bonza boss defiant on $50 fares as costs swell

Bonza chief executive Tim Jordan is determined to keep airfares at his start-up leisure-focused airline as low as $50 for short one- to two-hour flights in the face of stubbornly high oil prices.
It comes as major carriers like Qantas and Virgin Australia warn their fuel bills are reaching record levels because of the war in Ukraine, which is forcing them to push airfares to peaks not seen for 15 years.
