With an election slated for early 2022, the Christmas and New Year’s break will probably be the last time our federal MPs have a chance to put their feet up and spend time with family before hitting the campaign trail. The Australian Financial Review rang around to see what people were up to over the break, their holiday traditions and any new year’s resolutions.

Scott Morrison has spent much of the year in Canberra for both Parliamentary sittings and in quarantine at the Lodge after overseas trips. The Prime Minister will spend the holidays with his wife, two daughters and mother in Sydney, and the PM’s Christmas tradition is Elf on the shelf.
