Macquarie chief Shemara Wikramanayake says the yearly deployment of renewable energy sources needs to increase four-fold over the next decade and has urged governments to pull back red tape dragging on green innovation.
In a speech opening the financial services group’s green energy conference, Ms Wikramanayake said there must be a rapid deployment of mature renewable technology such as solar and wind, paired with emerging technologies like hydrogen and even controversial carbon capture and storage projects.
