State borders could stay shut even after 80 per cent vaccination rates

Queensland and Western Australia have reserved the right to close their borders if there is a significant COVID-19 outbreak even after 70 to 80 per cent of the population has been vaccinated.
While all state and territory leaders have agreed to the four-phase plan to gradually reopen Australia later this year, some are keeping open their options for further restrictions down the track if required.
