With half of Australia locked down right now and so many doing it tough, no one is going to have a lot of sympathy for the plight of ASX company chairmen.

But a session at Wednesday’s Australian Council of Superannuation Investors conference with Commonwealth Bank chairwoman Catherine Livingstone, Telstra chairman John Mullen and Zip’s Diane Smith-Gander underscored how rapidly the ground is shifting beneath Australia’s corporate sector.
