The first time Barnaby Joyce led an insurrection over climate change, he warned it would lead to $100 roast dinners.

Joyce was campaigning against the Rudd government’s proposed emissions trading scheme in 2009 but the collateral damage was Malcolm Turnbull, with the then opposition leader being dumped after Joyce helped galvanise conservative sentiment.
