Holgate sealed her own fate by quitting: AusPost chairman

The chairman of Australia Post says he wanted Christine Holgate to return as chief executive pending the outcome of an investigation into the Cartier watches scandal, but she quit before it could be completed.

A day after Ms Holgate escalated the controversy about her departure from the government-owned company, chairman Lucio Di Bartolomeo issued a lengthy statement defending his actions and seeking to correct the record over the $20,000 purchases.
