Boris may yet trip over his vaulting vaccine ambition
Hans van LeeuwenEurope correspondentLondon | Boris Johnson is not a man who likes to deliver bad news. In announcing the national lockdown in a televised address on Monday night (Tuesday AEDT), he buried the lead in a way that should shame the former journalist.
It wasn't until paragraph 42 of a 50-paragraph statement that he quietly let slip just how long he expects England's new lockdown to last: at least seven weeks. Until then, the public might have assumed he was talking only of another short, sharp stint.
