Gym owners and epidemiologists are set for a fight as the fitness industry pushes to be among the first businesses to be allowed to reopen on the road out of coronavirus lockdown.
Barrie Elvish, CEO of industry body Fitness Australia, wants the federal government to give the green light to a staged reopening of gyms across the country because most have appropriate hygiene and distancing protocols in place.
