Pro-democracy activists are urging the Morrison government to ban senior Hong Kong officials and police chiefs, including embattled chief executive Carrie Lam, from travelling to Australia as a show of support for liberty.

They also warn that Hong Kongers are on the frontline of standing up to an authoritarian China and if they are defeated, Beijing will be emboldened globally to bully nations, including Australia.
