ASIC pushes to expand digital reporting

The corporate watchdog has called on the parliamentary inquiry on audit quality to look into improving the adoption of digital financial reporting, after its own attempt to introduce the practice on a voluntary basis failed.
This is the second submission to advocate the modernisation of accounting systems, after University of Technology Sydney accounting professor Peter Wells pushed for the adoption of the Extensible Business Reporting Language, known as XBRL.
