Oil climbs, shaking off Trump's latest demand

New York | Oil prices edged higher, as the market attempted to resume a weeks-long rally that was halted on Friday when US President Donald Trump demanded that producer club OPEC raise output to soften the impact of US sanctions against Iran.
Brent crude futures rose 30 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $US72.45 a barrel near 1pm New York time on Monday. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures climbed 28 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $US63.58.
