The border is finally open. Celebrate by getting off the beaten track to some of the best islands the Sunshine State has to offer.

When Queensland closed its borders on March 25, nearly a quarter of Australia's land mass was suddenly out of bounds to everyone living outside that state.
Almost 2000 islands – most of them protected within the world's largest reef system, the Great Barrier Reef – and 7000 kilometres of coastline were as unreachable as any destination abroad.
