Arriving in the spectacular Jabal Al Akhdar mountains after a gruelling day visiting sites in the blazing desert heat, our tour group is ready to enjoy the sunset views from the sweeping cliffs of the five-star Anantara resort.
Alas, the check-in staff have other plans for us, as we wait, and wait, and wait before being handed room keys and pointed towards the cliffs with no further instruction on how to find our rooms in the rapidly darkening night sky.
