Australian travellers stuck in Peru, which has closed its borders because of the coronavirus, are trying to hire their own charter flights out of South America to get home.

After the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade warned all Australians who want to come home to act as soon as possible, there has been a frantic rush of people trying to return from across the globe.
