Women with diabetes more vulnerable to heart attacks
Although women are less likely to have heart failure than men, throwing diabetes into the mix increases women's chances of heart failure more than men, according to a global study conducted by the George Institute for Global Health.
A woman with type 1 diabetes is 47 per cent more likely to have heart failure compared to a man in the same boat, while the risk of heart failure in women with type 2 diabetes goes up by 9 per cent compared to men.
