Sustainability ventures between the sheets
Melbourne-based brand Ettitude has just closed a $2.5 million seed funding round, proving that environmentally friendly linen is a luxury worth investing in.
Consumers don't have to choose between sustainable and beautiful.
Phoebe Yu was shopping for bed linen in Melbourne in 2014 when she realised how difficult it was to find sustainable sheets. "I was looking for my dream bedding, which would be silky soft and made from environmentally friendly fabric, and while there were a lot of sustainable textiles happening in the fashion industry at that time, no one was doing that for bedding," says Yu.
So she decided to do it herself. The result is Ettitude, which has swiftly made a name for itself with its sustainable textiles spanning bedding, sleepwear, towels and robes, all crafted from a bamboo fabric that is 100 per cent organic.
