Why you should be grateful for your $6 coffee

Australians love to complain about the cost of their morning coffee, but turns out we’ve been paying low prices for arguably the best coffee in the world.

It’s the sort of news that could make you choke on your $9 oat iced latte. Compared to the rest of the world, it turns out Australians are actually getting their coffee cheap.

Cafe owners have said for years that they have been nervous about increasing the price of coffee, fearing backlash from customers who already believe they are paying too much. A large latte in most capitals now costs $6 to $6.50, making tired eyes widen for all the wrong reasons.
