Who hasn’t quenched a thirst at some point with the little Aussie favourite of lemon, lime and bitters? And by bitters, we invariably mean Angostura bitters. The cute bottle of aromatic goodness that looks like it’s been dressed by a great aunt, with its fussy, oversized label, is instantly recognised the world over.

Such is its universal standing, it is claimed – correctly or not – there isn’t a cocktail bar in the world that doesn’t stock a bottle. Certainly, I’ve had one stashed in the pantry for as long as I can recall, always on hand to shake a few dashes into an LLB or two.
