“It does seem odd,” says Alexandra Shulman, former editor of British Vogue, “to be talking about clothes right now. But at the same time, I think that, strangely, clothes can become more important in times of turmoil. Particularly when it comes to emotional upheaval – what you wear has a lot to do with who you are and how you feel.”
She should know. After 25 years at the fashion bible, Shulman has turned her attention to writing books. Her latest, Clothes… and other things that matter, is about, well, exactly that.
