Huw Bennett doesn’t call what he does “fashion design”. “I like the idea of helping other people build their brands,” says Bennett, the founder of Worktones, which manufactures uniforms for the likes of the Merivale empire and Andrew McConnell’s ever-growing Melbourne restaurant group.

The former designer at Vanishing Elephant – he sold it to Incu founders Brian and Vincent Wu in 2015 – insists his business came about by accident.
