Iam at the home of fashion icon Jenny Kee, whose bright knitwear was one of the defining looks of the 1980s, to talk about a new documentary about her and her former business partner, fellow fashion designer and artist Linda Jackson.
The show is called Step Into Paradise and I feel that’s what I’ve done as I come down the driveway to Kee’s home in NSW’s Blue Mountains. It’s not the home itself that inspires the feeling, although it is singularly lovely and Kee to a tee – crafted from corrugated iron and filled with rugs, artwork, mirrors and objets d’art of her own design – but the land on which it sits.
