Top fashion designer leads a double life saving tigers
When Dior Homme creative director Kim Jones isn't designing luxury menswear and dressing celebrities, he's trying to prevent the extinction of animals.
Anyone who follows Kim Jones on Instagram (@mrkimjones) will know that the creative director of Dior Homme, who is widely considered the leading menswear designer on earth, basically posts on two subjects: Dior – designing collections, collaborating with artists, winning multiple awards while his best mates David Beckham, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell wear the clothes; and obscure animals – be these humpback whales (he recently swam with them in Tahiti) or pangolin (spotted on a trip to Namibia).
Jones grew up in the Amazon, Ecuador and Botswana with his father, who was a hydrogeologist. While entirely comfortable in the fashionable world of Paris, he is equally adept at being off-grid.
