I do think about death. Not in a morbid way, but I did just turn 50, and I have friends who are starting to deal with illnesses and ailments; things you never conceive of when you’re young. So yes, from a pragmatic point of view, I do think about it. But I don’t sit there thinking about the great unknown; it’s going to come anyway.

I’ll go for cremation, please. And here’s what’s going to happen: they’re going to pick me up and scatter me in the middle of the Australian desert, right in that orange-red sand. I’ve been gone from Australia for so long that when I come home from New York now, I always go to the desert. I didn’t grow up near the desert, but I really crave it.
