Outdoor clothing retailer Kathmandu hopes consumers can be sold on the benefits of buying repaired goods – with a healthy discount of course – in a bid to slow the alarming build-up of returned clothes in landfill.
The 157-store chain known for its brightly coloured puffer jackets and other outdoor apparel will launch a pilot program to refresh and fix faulty goods returned to two of its Melbourne stores, with the aim to resell 5000 units by October. The Redu program is backed by a $150,000 Sustainability Victoria grant.
