‘Like wearing a painting’: Resortwear that turns you into living art
Hannah Kraus was a painter who needed a canvas. She found it in silk, cotton and linen.
In the skirt of Hannah Artwear’s Oceanus dress, there is six metres of fabric, an absurdly maximalist amount. “Look,” says founder and creative director Hannah Kraus. “It just has so much volume. It’s so fun to wear.”
Fun is the driving force here at Kraus’ flagship in Double Bay, Sydney. The small but luxurious space is a temple to her fine illustrative prints – honed over years at the University of Sydney’s College of the Arts and translated to silk, cotton and linen by traditionally trained printers in India.
