In fashion, what goes around will surely come back again. And so it is with this year’s Australian Fashion Laureate, Linda Jackson, who came to prominence in the 1970s for her bespoke designs celebrating Australiana. At 71, she is at last being recognised for her significant contribution to Australian fashion.

“When you’ve been out of fashion for so long, this comes as quite a shock,” Jackson said when she was presented with the award by longtime collaborator Jenny Kee, herself a Laureate recipient in 2013.
