What is it? The UX300e Sports Luxury is the fully electric version of Lexus’s smallest SUV, with some recent and much appreciated upgrades. The official range of just 305 kilometres, for example, has been stretched to a slightly more competitive 440 km, thanks to a 34 per cent bigger battery (it’s now 72.8 kWh). You may not pick the electric version of the UX though; only subtle badging distinguishes it from the petrol.
What does it cost? The Sports Luxury version tested here is $88,490 plus on-road costs. The lower spec but mechanically identical Luxury version is $8500 cheaper. Both prices represent an increase of about 10 per cent on the 2023 model.
