Thrills but no frills in Tesla’s Model 3 Standard Range Plus
The near-seamless interaction of software, app and hardware is a delight, although you do have to touch the central tablet for almost everything.
What is it? The entry-level Tesla in its barest form. All 3s are now made in China for Australia’s market, with slightly different batteries and a few 2021 tweaks, including black exterior highlights and a powered boot lid.
What does it cost? Marginally less than before (although still not cheap) at $62,900 plus on-road costs. Optional bright red paint, plus seats the colour of fresh snow, added a further $4300 to our example.
