This car is close to the most fun you can have in a road-legal BMW

The company’s smallest M coupe is not only loud and brutal but feels as direct and responsive as a track car, which in a sense it is.

With the M2 CS, BMW is offering you a broad choice of how much you want to have your senses assaulted in the cause of going quickly.

What is it? The BMW M2 CS is the rawest, quickest version of BMW’s littlest M coupe. CS stands for Competition Sport.

What does it cost? $139,900 (excluding on-road costs), and $150,100 as tested. To put that in context, the M235 variant, which is very quick and comfortable, is $81,900 plus on-road-costs. The M2 Competition, which is markedly quicker and quite a bit harsher, is $102,900. And the stripped-out, beefed-up, even raunchier CS ramps that up a further $37,000. So BMW is offering you a broad choice of how much you want to have your senses assaulted in the cause of going quickly.
