What is it? The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 is the entry-level performance version of Benz’s popular mid-size SUV, now in its second generation. There is an SUV and a “coupe” (which is to say a fastback SUV), and they are mechanically identical. We tested the SUV.

What does it cost? From $135,315 plus on-road costs. The addition of a Performance Ergonomic Package and very attractive carbon-fibre interior highlights lifted the price of ours to $143,915, plus on-road costs.
