Whiteley, Quilty among artists collected by crime syndicate

A Ned Kelly portrait by Adam Cullen and a page of erotic drawings by Brett Whiteley are among artworks worth nearly $500,000 forfeited by a Melbourne organised crime syndicate, the Australian Federal Police has revealed.

The unusually cultured proceeds of crime, which also include landscapes by Ben Quilty and Fred Williams, were seized by the AFP following Operation Fuji, which focused on a large Middle Eastern gang’s drug importation activity.
